This product by Avid is something you have to buy if you want to be able to keep your copy of Pro Tools Ultimate up-to-date with the latest bug fixes and the odd functionality update. So far I have paid for 1 year subscription and received next to nothing in the way of functionality updates because Avid arent very quick to expand functionality even to catch up to what other DAWs offer as standard. if your support plan lapses and you do not renew, you must then pay 1,000 euros to get back on that same plan - if you do not continue to renew this update plan.
I have paid 400 euros and received 1 ''major'' update within that time. the update was Folder Tracks. I have paid 400 euros to Avid to receive the ability to put my tracks into folders. Im disgusted that these update plans are so expensive. I do not intend to renew my plan again in the future.
Breaking News: Avid Pro Tools Ultimate - Now with More Fees than Features!
PTuser 13.05.2024
Avid Pro Tools Ultimate used to be a go-to for professionals, but now it's just a cash grab. The increased price and sky-high annual maintenance fees for basic updates feel like daylight robbery. It's like paying for a luxury car and being asked to pay extra for the wheels every year. Steer clear unless you enjoy being nickel-and-dimed at every turn.
