Audio-Technica ATM230

this mic is fire!
I use it mainly for Toms and some guitar take. It creates a wonderful dynamic range of frequencies and gives me a beautiful attack on every drums hit.
I owned other types of microphones but nothing compares to the clarity and dynamic of this one.
To get maximum from this microphone I suggest using a good Preamp

great microphones for snare drums. For me better option then SM57. Very punchy, bright with nice low end, too. I do not have hi hat bleading in snare channel like on sm57...come with drum clip small stand.

I'm using this mic inside the kick, from heavy rock to pop, even jazz.
Not iper Eq'd but "almost ready"sound. Solid construction. Great bargain.

I am a big Benny Greb fan and he likes to use audio-technica mics on toms.. Body is made of metal and has a bit of weight to it, feels solid and like it is going to last a long time. I have used it only on toms, but i think it would sound good on snare, wind instruments and percussion. It has a wet sound, a big scoop in highs that gives it presence. And a good punchy bottom, so a good tom/floor mic. Definitely not a neutral sound and quite colored, but a quality product and feels well build.
