AKG C 519 ML

This mic was purchased for our Saxophone player. We took time and trouble to research and ask several question of the very helpful Thomann Team. This made a big difference to our selection and confidence. The mic does exactly what it says, easy to fit; in our case to both alto and tenor sax. The best bit is the sound; faithful to the natural sound, clear and sharp. Overall extremely pleased with this purchase. To be fair Thomann were great in answering all my dumb questions. So all that is left to say is... keep playing, keep on Blues'in!

Easy to install, the sound is clear and dynamic and quite bright - but it's easy to turn down the presence/treble and impossible to regain that high end if the mic is not picking it up at all. Make sure it gets enough phantom power, 48V or at least 24V, 12V will simply not do and it will stifle the tone and response of the mic. I'm using it with the AKG wireless unit or the C519 cable, on alto saxophones.

Have now used this for Brass and percussion with great results. The mic has good construction and build quality and is very versatile with it's gooseneck arm.

This mic works great for my saxophone paired with the AKG perception wireless transmitter and receiver. I run it through a pedalboard and it works great!
